Our hospitality committee, headed by Carla Morrow, spent the afternoon of the Specialty decorating the restaurant "Lee's on Devries" located at the Royal Canadian Legion not far from the show site, based on our theme Bichon Beach Party. We hosted a crowd of 40 people to a buffet of homemade Manitoba delectables of perogies, cabbage rolls, kubassa , chicken, salad, and Jeannie's cake. The live auction was a huge success bringing in almost $1000.00. Many went home with beautiful items graciously donated by Bichon lovers. The winning item of the day was a flip camera donated by Linda Ross from Florida. The "most aggressively sought after item" was the "Beach" sign with a Bichon peering over it donated by Terri McLain and eventually acquired by Linda Vogen. Linda also won 2 of the BFCC raffle items! The evening ended with new Club pins being awarded to present club members and recognition awards. AM/CAN CH. RISGAE'S HERSHEY'S KISSES OF DALNAVERT-LUVIT would receive the TOP BICHON in Canada award owned by a club member. Bernice/Brian Lucas / Linda Ross and Rick Day are "HUGS'S" owners. HUGS will be featured in the breed heading in the Dog's Annual for 2012. Breeders Bernice/Brian Lucas and Linda Ross also received the Top Dam award for AM/CAN. CH. "LANA" on the championship of her two sons Lex and Tony in 2010. These two boys also have their American championships and have met all of their health clearances.

The day and evening had turned out to be a huge success for the BFCC Specialty Committee!
