We Have Been Busy in Milwaukee, Orlando, Atlanta GA
The past month has been excessively busy at home and in the Kennel. As both Lex and Tony completed their American championships by the end of July, plans had to be made to bring them home. Temperatures in the mid-west, both Canada and the USA, had been hot and humid. Shipping by plane was out of the question! Here at home, we had been busy preparing for our daughter’s wedding (August 28th/10) and I did not have a dress yet! A holiday was definitely in order!
We left on August 2nd and drove to friend’s home in Bristol, Wisconsin ( just out side of Milwaukee). Jill Sanfilippo and her 4 lovely Bichons welcomed us into their home. We got to meet ” Gracie” Jill’s new puppy out of Hugs and Lana. What a cutie! Jill drove us to the airport on the evening of the 3rd for a flight to Florida…...where it was even hotter and more humid !! Linda Ross , co-breeder and owner of the ROLEX BOYS , along with her husband Pat picked us up at the Orlando airport. The next few days would be relaxing, yet busy, as we shopped for my dress for the wedding ,visited the Disney World Resorts, went out for dinner and played with a new litter of pups out of “Belle” and “Pip”. Where were the Rolex Boys ? They were still in Georgia where it was even HOTTER and MORE HUMID. Thanks to the kindness of Linda’s son Shawn and her mother Lois ( 84 years young) , the two of them offered to make the 14 hour round trip to Georgia and back to Florida, to pick up the dogs. We were all finally re-united. Tony and Lex had been with Rick and Gary since the BFCA National in Indianapolis at the beginning of May.
Our flight back to Milwaukee was on Sunday,August 8th. We flew Southwest Airlines. Lex and Tony were snug in their Sherpa bags tucked under the seats in front of us. They were so quiet no one even knew they were there. Back to Jill’s for an over night and the long drive home the next day. Thank you Jill for your hospitality. You made Lex and Tony’s safe return possible. We were home on August 10th only to return to a few more crazy weeks before the wedding.
