Life has been busy here at the kennel since the August dog show. All of the puppies left for their "forever homes". New owners were excited to take in their "little kids in fur coats". We have had some of them come in for grooming and boarding. It shows that owners have put a lot of effort into good house training habits and some have already started puppy classes. Our puppies reside all over Canada. This litter saw 2 off to Regina !

The German Shepherd conformation ring takes a great deal of strength , stamina and expertise to show this breed to its best potential. Pictured is Carolyne in the GSDC of MB Specialty ring under judge Jack Kilgour presenting "Dutch Hill's Roulette".
Roulette is owned by Mr. Han van den Heuvel " Dutch Hill " kennel. Han has been breeding quality Shepherds under this prefix for more than 40 years.
We are very fortunate to have our daughter Carolyne as a handler. This weekend Carolyne presented her skills to the judges in both the Bichon Frise ring and in the German Shepherd ring. Great job Carolyne! Pictured is Carolyne with AM/BIS CAN CH. LUVIT'S A ROLEX DAYTONA AT DALNAVERT AOM.
Sandy Orford gets Tony ready for the Group ring. Thank you Pamela Bruce for another GROUP 4 for Tony at the MCA show this weekend . We are thrilled with the judges' consistent recognition of Tony. The Group 6 ring was being challenged by some of the top dogs in Canada ! Tony continues to be an excellent representation if the breed.

This summer has been very hot for the dogs in out door rings in the dog shows. For short coated dogs wet towels over their backs will have a cooling affect. Long coated dogs, like the Bichon, can stand on cold wet towels in order to cool off. Unfortunately, once you are in the ring, the sun and the dry stubble grass soon become other issues to deal with, making an out going "go around" difficult to achieve at times!

After spending last weekend in Pennsylvania showing out doors in the heat and rain, LEX, Tony's brother has his own view about " dies caniculares"!
It is a good thing Lex is white! Romans sacrificed a brown dog at the beginning of the Dog Days of Summer to appease the rage of Sirius believing the Star caused the hot, sultry weather.
